Yay, it's Friday! This week...or more like this month, I have a lot on my plate at work so I've been pretty burned out and having a hard time to focus on blogging.
A few days ago, I picked up this polish on clearance at Sally Beauty Supply. One of the reasons why I love shopping at Sally is the clearance rack. I've noticed that colors that weren't sold out from new collections often end up on clearance about 4-6 weeks after it is released. So if you see a new color you like and it doesn't look like it's going to fly off the shelf, just wait a few weeks to see if you'll find it on clearance.
Yellow isn't usually the kind of nail color I'd go for but if it looks interesting, I probably will take a second look or scoop it up. Melodious Utopia is a pale jelly cream yellow with subtle pinkish orange shimmers. Application was pretty patchy and sheer. It look alright with 3 coats but I feel that it looks best in 4 coats. If you don't want to do that many coats, using a more opaque yellow or white polish as base will help. Hmmm...now that I think about it, this might work for a jelly sandwich.

That's really interesting and different. I'll have to start looking at the Sally clearance racks, you always seem to find such cool polishes there!

DeleteYour nails are gorgeous but it's a pity it takes 4 coats to look this good! I just can't do 4 layers. I mess everything up at the third :( No patience :(

Yeah 4 coats is a bit much. It's a shame it's not a little more pigmented.

DeleteThis is beautiful and I love ORLY polishes but 4 coats is a bit too much for me. It's a very beautiful color though.
