Haul & Swatches - Maybelline Color Goes Electric (Limited Edition)

Hello Lovelies,

I've been so overworked these past few weeks and it looks like it's going to say this way through this month.  I probably will crash earlier tonight but before I do so, I wanted to get this post up as soon as possible because these items are limited edition. If you see something that interest you, I would recommend that you check your local drugstore soon so that you don't miss out.

I've been stalking Walgreens for the past couple weeks for this collection because I know there was at least two items I was going to get. I'm very happy that when I stopped by Walgreens yesterday, they had put up the display and it was fully stocked. The only thing that was sad about this haul is that these items weren't on sale. I was tempted to get another blush but refrained from doing so. We'll see if I end up getting more in the next couple days, lol. At least I grabbed the items that were on my list first.

Say hello to Coral Burst! This is super gorgeous bright coral/orange blush. When was the last time you saw a blush this coral and this bright, especially in drugstore? I was drooling all over it when I first saw pictures of it. It does have a slight hint of gold shimmer in it but it's very subtle and the shimmers are quite fine. I'm pleased that the formula wasn't powdery but the pigmentation is intense yet fairly easy to work with and blend if you use a light hand. I wore it today and the color lasted quite well on me. After my eight hour shift, I only noticed very minimal fading.

ColorSensational High Shine lip gloss in Mirrored Plum. It's a nice medium magenta color with a nearly opaque coverage. Well you do need 2 or 3 layers in order to get it to be opaque but I like the fact that the color is buildable. The formula feels really smooth and non-sticky. I would say it has a medium thickness to it and does feel a bit cushy when you do more than one layer. Warning though, these do get on your teeth so it's best not to apply too much. I noticed that this color left a bit of stain behind when I removed it. They weren't kidding when they slapped high-shine on the label. This makes my lips look very wet and glossy. It has a subtle artificial fruity scent to it, that actually doesn't bother me.

I am wearing Coral Burst on my cheeks and Mirrored Plum on my lips. I hope I don't look too clownish here. I normally don't apply this much blush on my face, as I like to keep it subtle for but wanted to give you guys an idea of  the pigmentation and color.

I skipped on the lipsticks and I really wanted to grab one or two cause the shades were right up my alley but I just don't like the smell of it.

Will you or have you picked anything from this collection?

    1. yes it does look more wearable on the lips. Even if it was the same color as the tube, I think I would still love it.

    1. Looks alright in picture but in real life, I would probably apply only half of what I did on the swatch. Coral Burst is gorgeous and has a great formula too.

  7. I just spotted these at my Walgreens this week. Mirrored Plum looks gorgeous. I wish I had picked some up if I knew that they were going to be that pigmented and glossy.

  11. Yet to see this collection here in singapore but I do love that shade of coral on you! I've got something similar I had a friend send me from milani, the baked blush in coralina, just as pigmented! I've yet to really try a more purplish lip but don't think i will be, haven't been touching much lip product!

    1. It does look similar to Coralina on the cheeks but the shimmers on Coral Burst is much more subtle.
