Sephora + Pantone Universe Glitter Strobe Eyeliner Set Emerald - Review and Swatches

Apparently, this set is no longer available on Sephora's website and since this is limited edition, I don't think they will be selling anymore of these. I feel pretty bad that I didn't get a chance to do a proper review before this happened. It's kinda pointless right now but oh well since I've already taken the pictures when I received them, I figure I might as well finish up the review.

I'm sure most of you already know that emerald green is the new color of the year for 2013 and I must say I'm quite loving it.

Packaging
  • This set contains 4 small tubes of emerald liquid eyeliners. Each tube contains .05 oz or 1.4 ml of product.
  • They all come with a small brush applicator. I found the applicator fairly easy to use and the brush tip has just the right amount of flexibility without feeling flimsy. My small complaint would be that I wished the cap was a little longer. It would have made handling much easier and give me better control.

Product
  • There's just a small variation between the shades. There's one with a plain matte finish, one with a subtle gold shimmer, one with a metallic finish, and one with pink shimmers.
  • These liquid liners are extremely saturated. The consistency is just right. Not too thick or too thin and they set fairly quickly.
  • Once they set, they literally stay on without smudging or fading until you take it off. I'm impressed with the longevity.
  • They're not really waterproof because they would smudge a bit when in contact with water but they are certainly water-resistant.
  • You will need a waterproof remover to get these off because they really cling to your skin. You would get a bit of stain left behind but the good thing is the stain doesn't seem to last very long.

Final Thought

The colors look absolutely stunning on the eyes. In spite of having a slight variation in shimmers, they all look pretty much the same once applied, except for the metallic finish liner. The longevity is outstanding and the only drawback is the stain that's left behind once you remove it.

Rating: 9.5/10

Did you get anything from the new Sephora + Pantone color of the year? Did you purchase anything Emerald recently?

  1. This is absolutely beautiful! I don't think I would have bought them even if they weren't LE, but they are beautiful! That color payoff is AMAZING! Can't wait to see you do an eye look with this.

    1. Hopefully soon. Believe me, they look stunning on the eyes but I can understand that it can be a little out there for those who prefer something more subtle.

  2. I don't think I could pull off such a bright eyeliner. But I can't wait to see how you wear it!
Does sephora make other colors with this formula? How long does it take for the stain to go away?

    1. They still have some emerald eyeliners left but I haven't been to the store to actually swatch them so I'm not exactly sure how they compare. I didn't really pay attention to how long the stain stays on because it's not that obvious. Plus if you wear eyeliners everyday like I do, that's not going to be an issue because the new eyeliner can easily cover it up.

    1. Good luck! Even if they don't have this set, I think they do have other emerald eyeliners too.

  4. Oh my goodness, I wish I had bought these earlier. They look gorgeous in your swatches! Hopefully they will still have these in stores because they look like they would be gorgeous as a pop of color for the summer.

    1. Emerald is an awesome color...especially the one Sephora + Pantone came out with. Definitely check it out and even if you can't find this set hopefully you'll find something else that appeals to you.

  5. Sooo beautiful i was really looking forward to get this set =( but then i received this message from Sephora:

The Sephora + Pantone Universe Glitter Strobe Eyeliner Set Emerald you are looking for has been discontinued on our website. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We suggest Nars Larger Than Life eyeliner in Rue De Rivoli , a comparable product which can be found at Sephora.com.

And the Color Cube Lid Stain was discontinued to buy alone =( now i'm looking forward to get the Color of The Year Collection the last stand >.<. Is such a bummer the Emerald Year stills going on and they will not put more of these to sell? Sephora make me maad >X o

    1. I missed out on the lid stain as well and that was the first thing I wanted. I'm glad I was able to get this set before they sold out. Sorry to hear you still didn't get yours. Hopefully, you'll find something you like with whatever they have left.

  7. I wish I would have caught these when I had the chance. Do you think there are any dupes in here? From stila, or Mac? I love creme ones. Great review doll. :)

    1. I think the liner that look closest to these is the Wet N Wild Mega Liner in the shade Turquoise. Good news is it's cheap and still available. You can view a swatch of it on this post --> http://xxxbeautyredefinedxxx.blogspot.com/2013/05/emerald-green-swatch-fiesta.html
