Sparitual Nail Polish Swatches - Solaris and Eye of the Beholder

These are my first Sparitual nail polishes ever. I spotted these at TJ Maxx and they were sold for $3.99 each. Not too shabby, considering they retail for $10.00 a pot. Of course with that kind of deal, I didn't have much of a color choice.

Solaris is a glowy neon orange jelly cream. So bright that I think it hurts the lens of my camera. Awesome color for summer though. The formula was really nice and applied smoothly. Opaque in just 2 coats. It dries down to a semi opaque finish. The other color that I have that is similar or seem like a good dupe for this polish is Color Club Wham! Pow!

Eye of the Beholder is a light pastel-ish yellow green with a cream finish. I don't think I have anything similar to this color. The closest might be Essie Navigate Her, but Eye of the Beholder is brighter and yellower. I think this makes a nice spring color.
Application was a bit challenging with this polish. The formula is on the thicker side and applied patchy and streaky. It also seem to dry quickly so you have to work quickly when you apply it; otherwise, it will pull and drag where you're trying to smooth it out. I have two coats on the swatch and it was very opaque. However, you can still see some streakiness. I might have to thin the formula down a bit and see if that helps with the application.

Own any Sparitual colors? If so which one would you recommend?

  1. These are both so pretty - what a great find! I need to check out my TJ's to see if they are popping up. To bad the green was a sticky application it's a really pretty color!
