Bakers Square Breakfast

A few days ago, my oldest son had a case of pink eye...Again! I don't know what is up with that kid but he's been getting it around this time of the year for the past 3 years in the same left eye. I took a couple hours off from work on Tuesday morning to take him to the doc. After we finished and picked up his prescription, I decided to treat us to some breakfast before heading to work.

We ate at Bakers Square since it was very close to home and the doctor's office.

I ordered
  • Strawberry crepe, scrambled eggs, mini hamburger patties, and hash brown ($6.99)
  • hot chocolate ($2.99)
  • Custard Pie, to go (10.99), not pictured...I totally forgot to take a picture of the pie before my kids tear it up.
My son had something similar, except that he had bacon strips instead of hamburger patties.
My thoughts on the food...It wasn't the best breakfast I ever had but it wasn't bad either. The service was fast and good. I didn't like my hamburger patties, they had a weird taste and smell. The hot chocolate was filled with whipped cream on top and it was pretty good. I liked it. The strawberry crepe was so so. I'm glad it wasn't too sweet cause from the looks of it, it did seem that way. They gave me more strawberries and sauce that I really needed. The strawberries don't look like they were freshly cut. It appears that they have been pre-cut and soaked in that red sauce.
Bakers Square specialize in making a variety of pie so I felt like I had to bring one home to try. I love custard but I didn't think their custard pie was that great. I've had better. I guess next time, I'd try a different pie.

I don't know how many calories I ate that morning, lol, but it sure looks like A LOT! I was so full that I actually skipped lunch. So overall, the food was decent and I think $6.99 for 4 choice of things is a pretty darn good deal!

I'm curious to hear what's your favorite place to eat breakfast? Or what's your favorite breakfast food?

  1. the crepe itself "looks" good - but i hate it when they drench it, too. eughk.

probably why i enjoy cooking my own food and presenting it the way it's appeasing to me, ahah. and also, i KNOW my ingredients and can be sure it's fresh and clean to my standards :)

but baker's square - never heard of them.
