Wet N Wild Fauna Collection Set - Swatches and First Impression

Wet N Wild has two new limited edition set that just recently came out. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on both of them. I spotted them at CVS a couple weeks ago. Each set sells for $4.99 and comes with 4 products: a blush, a eyeshadow trio, a lipgloss, and a nail polish.

What I noticed is that the Fauna set has cool toned shades and the Flora set has warm toned shades. I think the idea is nice but honestly, regardless of your undertone I don't think you have to stick to either cool or warm.

The Fauna eyeshadow trio consist of a shimmery purple, shimmery teal, and shimmery champage. The eyeshadows are very soft. Upon swatching them, I find the pigmentation to be average. I noticed the purple shade broke easily one me while it was in my shopping bag in spite of being wrapped with a couple layers of packaging.

Pearlescent Pink blush is actually part of the permanent line. The shade appears more like a coral pink. It has a hint of very fine gold shimmers in it. It's very beautiful when swatched and will probably look very natural on. The texture is nice but lack the buttery feel like some of the high-end blushes.

Glass Confusion lipgloss is a sheer and frosted cool-toned pink. This is a bit too frosted for my liking but the texture is nice and non-sticky. It has a delicious sweet candy scent to it.

Teal or No Teal is a very shimmery teal. I honestly didn't think I was going to like it but after swatching it...WOW, I'm in love! It's pretty sheer so you will need 3 coats in order to get a decent opacity. The drying time is pretty slow, which I very dislike; however, the end result is gorgeous. This teal has depth and an electrifying glow to it, which is why I find it so pretty.

At first, I was only interested in the eyeshadow trio but after swatching all of the products, I am finding myself liking most of them. You are getting a pretty sweet deal for the price even if you didn't want all of the items in the set.

Have you been able to snag one of these limited edition sets?

  1. Loving those teal colors.I've been into teal lately. That WnW set is sold here in the Philippines for almost 12 dollars! Can you believe that? Haha! I'd hoard Wnw products once I get to visit your country! Hahaha :D
