The day is almost over and I feel like I got nothing done other than nail swatches. I feel like I need to get out but before I do that, I have to deliver a couple of posts.
I was fortunate enough to get this scrub from theBalm back when they had that 50% off sale for 24 hours. I was so frustrated that I was going to miss out cause their site crashed and there was no way of knowing when it was going to be back up and running unless you were stalking them a few times a day, lol.
Packaging
- 2.36 oz or 70 ml plastic jar
Product
- Infused with almond extract and anti-oxidant from white tea.
- Paraben-free, cruelty-free, phthalate-free, synthetic dye-free, sulfate-free.
- Direction: wet face and apply a nickle size amount to finger and massage over face and neck for a minute and then rinse. Use weekly.
- The scrub wasn't too thick or thin and I found the grainy little beads quite fine and somewhat smooth. They give a gentle friction that help exfoliate and scrub away dry dead skin for smoother skin. The direction says to use weekly but I think it's gentle enough for more frequent use.
- One thing I don't like is that the little beads like to get stuck inside my nails and they don't rinse off easily either. You'd have to dig them out. Getting product stuck inside my nails is always a pet peeve of mine, which is why I really dislike jar containers.
- The scent is a little strong and sweet. I can detect the scent of almond in it but I can't really put my finger on the rest of the scent but the least I can tell you is that I didn't find it offensive.
- I like how clean and smoother my skin feels after using the scrub and I also like how it doesn't make my skin feel dry afterward.
Final Thought
Overall, I like it. It's scrubby yet gentle and leaves the skin feeling renewed, smooth, fresh, and clean. It's quite pricey so I definitely wouldn't repurchase unless it's on sale.

Tried any of theBalm skincare?
I LOVE your nail swatches :P and you post so often that it doesnt even matter what you post it's all great (: ... anyways.. Love the packaging of this product... and the almond sounds lovely (:
ReplyDeleteAww thanks. I wished it came with a spatula.
DeleteWell at least your getting something done today (and your swatches and reviews are favorites of mine!) - I had blood drawn at 9 this morning and almost passed out (I have no idea why - it was so weird I got super nauseous and suddenly everything got really foggy) they had to keep me there for a while and make me drink juice - I assume for the sugar. Then I came home and literally slept ALL DAY - except for 2 hours, it's 8pm and I just got up.
ReplyDeleteANywhoo... enough about that let's talk about TheBalm. I have never tried their skincare, but that exfoliant looks like it has a really nice texture. And in the summer I feel lke I need to exfoliat more, but the price...ohhh I don't know if I could do it. I want to check out more of their stuff and I found out there's an actual TheBalm "counter" at the fancy Walgreens downtown. This Tuesday I'll be down there so I need to check it out!
Yeah if you have low blood pressure, you can faint during or right after you get your blood drawn. It happened to me once, lol. It was weird cause I've had it done plenty of times before and I never fainted. I didn't eat anything before going to the doc and the nurse told me that it helps to eat a bit before the procedure. It happened to my sister once and it scared the crap out of her, she literally cried when she woke up cause she thought she died! LOL.
DeleteLucky you, I've never seen a theBalm counter. Should be fun!
That looks really good, I don't mind jar containers for my scrubs (though it is generally body scrubs that come in jars like that!)
ReplyDeleteI think this could have been packaged in a tube because it's not too thick.
