My New Camera, First Impression, and Sample Pictures

Hello Beautifuls!!!

I'd like to present to you my new camera "Rebella"...haha yes I gave her a name already. First and foremost, I want to shout out a HUGE THANK YOU to all my followers, readers, friends, and family for your support, for believing in me, for your kind comments, and suggestions. It means a lot to me that you have taken the time to read or check out my blog.

For the past year and a half, I've been a member of Luuux and I've finally saved enough points to redeem for this gorgeous camera, the Canon Rebel T3i DSLR. I can't tell you how excited and happy I am. I've always had an interest in photography and wanted a DSLR camera for a long time but just couldn't bring myself to buy one because of the price tag. Well today, one of my wishes came true. I may not have paid a single penny for this camera but I earned it through a lot of patience, dedication, and hard work so in case you were wondering, no it didn't just fall from the sky.

Before I could even begin to use this camera, I needed a memory card. So I ran earlier tonight to Best Buy and purchased this SanDisk 8GB memory card. I couldn't wait to play with it, lol. This memory card is currently on sale for $12.99! That's like half off of what it originally was. I almost bought two but now I regret that I didn't. I'm gonna have to go back and get another one before the price goes back up. I used my Sony Cyber Shot DSC-WX9 to take pictures of Rebella.

As pictured, the box includes charger, battery, USB cable, manual, warranty, body of camera, camera lense, strap, and CDs.

One of the cool thing, I like about Rebella is that she has an LCD screen that you can flip out. It allows you take pictures at weird angles or self portrait. Below are the sample pictures, I took with Rebella.

The only thing editing I've done with these pictures is size and add my watermark. Everything else was done by playing with the camera setting.

As you can see, Rebella takes amazing pictures. The sharpness and colors she captures are a lot better and more accurate than any camera I've used. I still have a lot to learn about Rebella. I've taken pictures with flash, without flash, played with some special effect settings. So far so good. I have a feeling we are going to be BFF, hehehe. I'm pretty sure Rebella is going to help me deliver better picture quality for you all to enjoy. So stay tuned to witness more of her awesomeness.
The Canon Rebel T3i retails for $799.99. You may be able to get it for a bit more or less depending on where you shop. If you prefer to earn it through Luuux, you'll need 49,824 points plus a few hundreds more for shipping.

Another thing I would like to also mention is that I placed my order on July 3 and received it on the 12th. The whole process was faster than I expected! I couldn't believe it. I have received a note in the mail box that they left my package at the office and it took me a few minutes to realize that it was my camera...Duhh! LOL. Anyways, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the moderator who reviewed my account and let me pass in flying colors. I received Rebella just before going on vacation so I'm thrilled that I will be able to bring her along with us.

    1. Thanks hun. I almost wanted to shoot myself when they raised the prize right when I was so close to redeem it. So it took me even longer than I anticipated but I figure I might as well.

  4. Great camera, the photos look beautiful. I have an Olympus E520 that's collecting dust.. used to be really in to photography but kind of lost my mojo. I keep to pull it out and have some fun with it one of these days. Enjoy your new toy!

  6. That's awesome that your patience/dedication was rewarded! I haven't heard of LUUUX ... going to check it out though. I would love a DSLR eventually, my bf thinks it would be inconvenient to use when out and about due to its size. Have you used it outside the home yet? Well, even with the clunkiness, I'd still want one. : )

    1. A DSLR camera is nice to have for times when you want your photos to have that professional quality to it. Yes the bulkiness is something you just going to have to get used to.

I would still use a small camera for times when I don't want to carry a huge camera around. There are some pocket camera that can take pretty good pictures.

  8. Congrats! I used LUUX last year but the website got so flooded with repeated posts and all that, so I quit. So I commend you for sticking around so long! How many points was Rebella worth?

    1. With shipping, it was a little over 50,000 points. Yeah, I thought I'll never get there and I see people getting their prize left and right while I'm still saving my points, which felt like an eternity! I'm usually aiming for the expensive items. Things I wouldn't normally feel too comfortable using my own money. If it is things I can afford, I wouldn't waste my time trying to get it on luuux. Then again to each their own.
