Color Club Magnetic Force Sci-Fi Swatches

TGIF...This is a slightly older picture but I wore this mani for a couple days and didn't get a chance to take a picture of it before it started fading at the tips.

For the record, I did not use the magnet it came with. I used the China Glaze magnet just because I wanted to try a different pattern other than the wavy one. If you tried magnetic nail polishes before, you know that they can be tricky to work with. I messed up a few times until I got it right.

Sci-Fi is a dark olive green with awesome gold shimmers. I really enjoyed this color on my nails. It's rather thick, which I'm totally ok with. You can get opaque coverage within the first coat. Now, the trick to make this work is you really gotta work quick. Paint your nail in less than 5 seconds and immediately put the magnet over it and do one nail at the time. Don't worry if you get some polish on your cuticles, you'll have to clean up later. The polish sets really quick so if you are not quick with the application, the design will look weak or faded.

Another thing I found out is that it does not like top coat, well at least the one I used, which is Seche Vite. Once I added the top coat, I saw the design fading. And without top coat, it's already wearing off at the tips within 2 days.

What do you think of magnetic polishes? Yay or Nay?

  2. I'm a nay. I can't work that fast! and I NEED a topcoat or my nails will chip in a day, plus my nails aren't flat so the pattern always looks weird. But you did a good job!

    1. I have curvy nails as well but managed to make it work after a few trial and error, lol. I need topcoat too.

  3. I think magnetic polishes are alright on other people but for me it's a nay. They don't interest me enough to get any of them.

    1. I understand. They are not my favorite either but I'm fine with this color because it looks gorgeous on its own even without using the magnet.

  4. I remember when they first came out that I had to have them in so many colors. LOL But now I don't even touch my magnetic polishes. I should probably give them another shot. The color that you are wearing is really pretty and I really like the swirl design.
